Remove ads on Yahoo Messenger

Yahoo Messenger is one of the existing Instant Messenger and Yahoo issued. There are tips and tricks so that we can save more bandwidth than Yahoo Messenger is (very useful for Internet users based quotas). Namely by removing existing ads on Yahoo Messenger Window. There are a few that we must do in order to eliminate the different versions ini. Because different versions, different way, too.

• Yahoo Messenger Version 7.5 & 8
  1. Run Registry Editor (Start -> Run -> Regedit)
  2. Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\yahoo\pager\YUrl
  3. Change all the fields below with "*" (without the quotes):
     Messenger Ad
     Webcam Upload Ad
     Webcam Viewer Ad
     Webcam Viewer Ad Big
     Webcam Viewer Ad Medium
     Change Room Banner
     Conf Adurl
     Chat Adurl
     If no, then make their own way, right click select New -> String Value.
  4. Close the Registry Editor and Run Windows Explorer
  5. Open the C:\Program Files\Yahoo!\Messenger\Cache\
  6. Find the file urls.xml
  7. Open and Delete all the existing content in the urls.xml file, and then save the file
  8. Then change the file attribute to Read-Only, by the way, right click on urls.xml file, select Properties, then select Read-only, then select OK
• Yahoo Messenger Version 8.0.0.701
  1. Open Notepad (Start -> Run -> Notepad)
  2. Then type as below, can also directly copy and paste:

  3. Then save the noYads.bat name, and run the file
• Yahoo Messenger 9 1
  1. Run Registry Editor (Start -> Run -> Regedit)
  2. Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Yahoo\pager\Locale
  3. In the right panel, look for Enable Messenger Ad, replace value with 0

In this way, we can remove the ads or existing Ads in Yahoo Messenger.
